Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, to deliver freight efficiently and securely. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and specialty loads like flatbeds or tankers, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering strictly to all safety and regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our logistics operation, providing reliable transportation solutions while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Drive various types of trailers including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and hazardous materials (Hazmat) loads, following all hazardous materials regulations. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes and ensure timely deliveries across multiple locations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring cargo integrity and safety during transit. Transport automobile parts or other specialty cargo with precision and care, maintaining proper load securement procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns before and after each trip. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance with FMCSA regulations throughout each shift. Skills Proven experience with commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in various environments. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations and handling temperature-sensitive cargo. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods. Ability to manually handle cargo safely during loading and unloading processes; experience with truck loading/unloading equipment is a plus. Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks with proficiency in manual handling techniques for cargo security. Experience with logistics cargo handling involving freight management for different trailer types such as flatbed or tanker units.
