In this vital role, you'll operate a variety of trucks—including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks—ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight efficiently using forklift or other equipment when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Deliver a variety of freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo with precision and care. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route details in compliance with federal regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any incidents encountered on the road. Assist with loading or unloading as needed for certain deliveries, ensuring proper handling of freight such as roll-off containers or dump truck loads. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers preferred. Proficiency in driving manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Prior delivery driver experience demonstrating safe driving practices and load management skills. Ability to load & unload freight using forklifts or manual methods while adhering to safety protocols. Knowledge of route planning and navigation for efficient delivery schedules. Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections, lift heavy items when necessary, and work in various weather conditions.
