In this vital role, you will operate various types of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods. Your expertise in navigating over-the-road (OTR) routes and handling logistics cargo will keep our supply chain moving smoothly. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Drive long-distance routes across multiple states, managing over-the-road (OTR) schedules efficiently while maintaining compliance with hours-of-service regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments, following all hazardous materials regulations. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, avoid delays, and ensure timely deliveries to customers or distribution centers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness; report any issues promptly for maintenance. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with DOT and FMCSA standards. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat endorsement if applicable). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation is preferred. Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks comfortably; experience with GPS navigation systems is essential. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to handle manual handling tasks safely.
