Birmingham, AL Pay:
$32/hr Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours Typically working 40-60+ hours per weekSchedule:
Monday - Friday Start time: 4:00 AM Typically working 10-14 hour days Currently working approximately 5 days per week Approximately 4 deliveries and 4 pickups per day Drivers will know their overnight schedule approximately one week in advance Typically 1 overnight per week, with occasional weeks requiring 2 overnights Overnight hotel accommodations provided at Hilton hotels $50 per diem for overnight stays, which the driver can keep if unusedPosition Overview & Key Responsibilities:
Operate an automatic Class A tractor-trailer equipped with a liftgate Deliver books and educational materials to schools Unload wheeled book carts containing books and folding bookshelves Use the liftgate to lower carts from the trailer Push carts into schools, libraries, or hallways where book fairs are being held Pick up empty carts from schools after book fairs Complete approximately 4 deliveries and 4 pickups per day Drivers are responsible for unloading the entire truck themselves Carts weigh approximately 200-300 lbs when fully loaded Physical work is required throughout the day; carts are designed to be easy to push, but the work can become physically demanding after repeated unloadingQualifications/Requirements:
Valid Class A CDL Minimum of 1 year of CDL A driving experience Valid DOT Medical Card Route driving experience Customer service experience Must be comfortable performing physical unloading duties Clean background requiredBenefits:
