Responsibilities Safely operate CDL-A tractor-trailer to transport time-sensitive freight across assigned regional, long-haul, and potential cross-border routes. Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety issues. Maintain full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations, including accurate use of electronic logging devices (ELDs) and hours-of-service rules. Plan and execute efficient routes, managing time and driving hours to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. Secure and protect cargo according to company and regulatory standards to prevent damage and loss. Communicate proactively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding load status, delays, and any issues on the road. Practice defensive driving techniques in all traffic, weather, and road conditions to minimize risk and ensure safety. Maintain accurate records, including bills of lading, trip reports, fuel and toll receipts, and any required cross-border documentation. Represent Mesilla Valley Transportation with professionalism and respect at customer locations, truck stops, and on the road.
