Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL A Driver for harvest operations and experience the thrill of supporting vital agricultural activities. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers and specialized equipment to transport crops, equipment, and supplies efficiently across various routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, adherence to safety standards, and seamless logistics support during peak harvest seasons. This position offers an energetic work environment where your driving skills directly contribute to the success of our farming operations. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks loaded with harvest-related cargo across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local delivery points. Manage loading and unloading processes, including freight handling, cargo securing, and ensuring proper documentation for hazardous materials (hazmat) when applicable. Navigate using GPS systems accurately to reach designated harvest sites and delivery points efficiently while adhering to route schedules. Load and unload logistics cargo safely, handling dangerous goods with strict compliance to hazardous materials regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, maintaining compliance with safety standards and reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with tractor-trailers and specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers or flatbeds. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods. Skilled in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution during harvest seasons. Ability to load & unload freight safely using manual handling techniques; familiar with truck loading/unloading procedures. Experience with automobile transportation or over-the-road (OTR) driving routes preferred. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service as a delivery driver. Capable of handling manual transmission trucks and operating various types of harvest-related trucks such as dump trucks or tanker trucks when needed.
