Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take the wheel of our state-of-the-art tractor-trailers to deliver freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of vehicle types, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks, while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmission, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local routes. Load and unload freight, including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and specialty cargo such as refrigerated goods or tanker loads, following all hazardous materials regulations. Transport a variety of cargo types such as freight, automobile transportation units, flatbed loads, dump trucks, or tanker shipments while maintaining proper load securement and manual handling procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance; report any mechanical issues promptly. Manage documentation accurately for delivery logs, shipment manifests, inspection reports, and incident reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse terrains. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving. Ability to handle manual handling tasks associated with truck loading/unloading cargo such as freight or hazardous materials. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks or other specialized equipment is a plus. Strong commitment to safety standards and excellent driving skills; ability to adhere strictly to DOT hours-of-service rules.
