Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Local Driver, where you will be the vital link ensuring timely and safe delivery of freight within local routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will help keep our operations running smoothly. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your driving skills and logistical knowledge in a fast-paced environment, delivering essential goods efficiently and reliably. Duties Operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles with Manual transmission to transport freight safely within designated local routes. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to adhere to scheduled delivery times and optimize route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods. Safely load, secure, and unload freight including refrigerated goods, freight requiring special handling, or hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met and report any issues promptly. Skills Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within local areas. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time adjustments. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to truck driving. Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload tasks involving logistics cargo handling. Experience with automobile transportation or tractor-trailer operations preferred but not required. Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
