Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, including long-haul deliveries across multiple states or regions. Load, secure, and unload freight with precision, following proper manual handling techniques and logistics cargo handling procedures. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient routing and timely deliveries. Transport specialized cargo such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), flatbed loads, or tanker shipments while complying with all Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in line with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any mechanical issues promptly. Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading, manual transmission operation, and dangerous goods handling. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of cargo transported (e.g., hazmat, tanker). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazard materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading processes. Strong navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on OTR routes. Excellent manual handling skills for safe load & unload operations involving freight or logistics cargo. Physical ability to perform long hours of driving and manual tasks associated with truck loading/unloading activities.
