GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Habitat LA is seeking a ReStore Driver to pick up donations and deliver them safely to our warehouse. In this role, you will drive a stake bed or box truck to assigned stops, load and secure items, complete pickup paperwork, and unload donations at the warehouse. You will work closely with the Driver's Assistant and help maintain an efficient, positive experience for donors and the ReStore team.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drive a stake bed or box truck to assigned pickup locations and follow the scheduled route. Load donations at each stop, using safe lifting and material handling practices. Secure items for transport to help prevent damage or injury. Complete required paperwork at each pickup location and communicate any issues to the appropriate team member. Unload donations at the warehouse and place items in designated areas. Direct and coordinate the work of the Driver's Assistant during pickups, loading, and unloading. Support general warehouse and ReStore operations as needed, including moving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS

At least one year of experience driving a commercial vehicle, such as a box truck or stake bed truck. Valid driver's license and ability to meet Habitat LA's driving requirements. Experience loading, securing, and unloading merchandise or donated goods. Ability to complete pickup documentation accurately and communicate professionally with donors and coworkers. OSHA or forklift training is a plus.

WORK CONDITIONS

Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs. Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary. Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens. Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area. While performing the duties of a Driver the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle and/or feel objects, handle tools and/or controls, and talk to and/or hear.
