Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Long Beach Port Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight within the port area, adhering strictly to all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential), have at least two years of professional driving experience, and maintain a clean driving record. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers within the port area and over the road routes. Load and unload freight efficiently while following proper manual handling procedures and cargo handling protocols. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries and pickups across designated routes, including OTR (Over the Road) routes. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to dangerous goods and hazardous substances. Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, logs, and compliance reports in accordance with trucking regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly. Ensure cargo security during transit and adhere to load & unload procedures for freight of various types including freight containers, refrigerated goods, or hazardous materials. Requirements Valid TWIC card is mandatory for access to port facilities. Minimum of two years professional driving experience with commercial trucks or tractor-trailers. Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in recent years. Proven experience with truck loading/unloading, manual transmission operation, and route driving. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling techniques including flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer operations, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems accurately in complex port environments. Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving. Strong manual handling skills for safe cargo load & unload procedures.
