Job Description
AbelCine is a full-service equipment and technology provider serving the broadcast, production, and new media industries. With offices in New York and Los Angeles, we support professionals through sales, rentals, training, financing, and technical services. Our mission is to provide creative solutions and expert guidance to the production community. We are currently seeking a Check-In Agent & Driver to join our dynamic Los Angeles rental team. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless return, processing, and tracking of rental and subrental gear while maintaining excellent communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Scanning and processing rental returns, along with performing various administrative and inventory-related duties Generate and manage Missing & Damaged (M&D) invoices; keep Agents and the Rental Operations Manager informed. Assisting with the expedited check-in, inspection, and preparation of returned equipment to support same-day turnaround Providing support to inventory, maintenance, and rental operations teams as needed Safely loading, unloading, transporting, and delivering rental equipment between the facility, clients, production locations, and other designated destinations Work with the Subrental Coordinator to coordinate equipment pickups and returns, including scheduling, preparing, loading, and transporting gear as needed Drive company vehicles regularly to pick up and deliver rental equipment, subrental equipment, supplies, and other materials between the facility, clients, vendors, and production locations Ensure equipment is properly secured and safely transported while operating company vehicles in accordance with company policies and applicable traffic laws Assist with planning efficient pickup and delivery routes and communicate any delays, changes, or issues to the appropriate Agents, Subrental Coordinator, and Prep Technicians Assisting clients and co-workers with loading and unloading equipment in and out of the facility and vehicles Verifying equipment and rental orders prior to delivery and confirming that all required items are accounted for Maintaining accurate records of equipment movements, deliveries, pickups, and rental returns Communicating professionally with clients, vendors, and production personnel during pickups and deliveries Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of rental equipment Following all company policies and procedures related to vehicle operation, equipment handling, safety, and customer service Performing other duties and assisting with rental operations as assigned. Qualifications Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Strong administrative and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail. Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task across phone, email, and internal systems. Friendly, energetic, and professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset. Physical ability to lift and control cases weighing up to 70 lbs. Prior industry experience and interest in film/production technology is highly desirable. Flexibility with hours is a plus. Familiarity with Mac OS and FileMaker Pro is a plus.
