$0.40 - $0.48 PER

MILE PLUS

$25/HOUR

DETENTION

+ $100/DAY

LAYOVER 3,600-4,000 MILES PER WEEK

Driver Experience Starting Mileage Rate New CDL / Training $0.40/mile 1-2 Year Experience $0.43-$0.45/mile 2+ Years OTR Experience $0.46-$0.48/mile Mileage rate is determined based on experience, qualifications, driving history, and overall performance.

ADDITIONAL PAY

Detention — $25/hour Drivers receive $25 per hour for approved detention time when delayed at a shipper or receiver beyond the company's applicable detention threshold. Detention must be properly documented and approved according to company policy and the requirements of the load. Layover — $100/day Drivers receive $100 per day for approved layovers when required to remain away from home and unable to continue the assigned trip because of circumstances outside the driver's control. Layover pay is subject to company policy and proper documentation.

JOB OVERVIEW

As an OTR Driver with Abel's Transport, you will safely operate a tractor-trailer while transporting freight across long-distance routes. Our typical schedule allows drivers to complete approximately one-week round trips, operating within their available 70-hour/8-day HOS cycle , followed by a 34-hour reset at home. We also provide approximately 2-3 days of home time , depending on the driver's assigned schedule, freight, and dispatch requirements.

NEW CDL DRIVERS WELCOME

If you are a newer CDL driver, we are willing to help you get started. We provide hands-on training in our yard to help familiarize new drivers with our equipment, procedures, and expectations. New drivers must still meet all applicable company, insurance, FMCSA, and qualification requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate a tractor-trailer on OTR routes. Operate 53' dry-van equipment. Follow all FMCSA, DOT, and company safety requirements. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Properly inspect tractor, trailer, brakes, lights, tires, connections, and safety equipment. Safely secure and transport cargo. Maintain accurate electronic logs and required documentation. Communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, breakdowns, and other issues. Follow assigned routes while making safe and reasonable routing decisions. Maintain the cleanliness and condition of assigned equipment. Report mechanical problems and safety concerns immediately. Complete BOLs, delivery documents, and other required paperwork accurately.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Class A CDL. Safe driving history. Ability to legally operate commercial motor vehicles under applicable

FMCSA/DOT

regulations. OTR experience preferred. New CDL drivers are welcome to apply and may be eligible for our company training program. Ability to operate a manual-transmission tractor. Ability to perform required vehicle inspections. Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch and management. Reliable and professional work ethic. Ability to follow company safety procedures.

EXPERIENCE

Experienced Drivers:

2+ years of OTR experience preferred. Previous dry-van experience preferred.

New Drivers:

New CDL drivers are encouraged to apply. On-site yard training is available for qualified applicants.
