Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver Class A to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, . Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This is a 1099 position. Not paid hourly you are paid per load or per delivery. Hazmat is a plus. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers to transport freight over long distances and local routes. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of loads in compliance with safety standards. Navigate using GPS systems to follow designated routes efficiently while adjusting for traffic or road conditions. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after trips. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a Class A CDL license. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, cargo handling, and securing freight properly. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation is a plus. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently while adhering to safety standards. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to dangerous goods. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning on OTR routes. Physical ability to handle manual tasks involved in load & unload activities and freight handling efficiently.
