Duties Operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Safely load and unload freight, including hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods, following hazardous materials regulations and proper manual handling procedures Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes Transport freight securely over long distances, maintaining compliance with all safety protocols for truck driving and logistics cargo handling Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and verifying load security Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in line with FMCSA regulations Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving plans and address any logistical challenges promptly Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or other specialized loads preferred Proven experience in delivery driving, freight transportation, or truck loading/unloading operations Skilled in driving manual transmission trucks and operating tractor-trailers safely over long distances Knowledge of truck loading/unloading techniques for various cargo types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, or hazardous materials Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient logistics cargo handling Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation Ability to handle manual tasks related to load securing and cargo management with attention to safety standards Embark on a rewarding career where your driving skills power our supply chain!
