POSITION SUMMARY
Drives truck to transport material to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loads or unloads truck using a forklift. Reads and understands map book and/or written directions to locate delivery destination. Drives truck to destination. Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Maintains safe driving record and obeys all state, local and federal driving laws. Displays driving courtesy to all other drivers. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water. Performs emergency roadside repairs if able. Observes all company safety policies and procedures pertaining to this position. Position blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. Checks all shipping paperwork before delivery to assure proper loads are being loaded and delivered. Reports any operational or safety concerns regarding company trucks to supervisor. Attends safety and TQM meetings as required. Ability to work irregular hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Appropriate state license to operate truck.
