Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an expierenced Class A truck driver to join our logistics team. You will be part of a growing small business and play a vital role as a team driver. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial truck and 53ft reefer to transport garlic products to different warehouses. Your expertise in handling refrigerated goods, using a pallet jack, and interfacing with different people is what we are looking for. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor/trailers and commercial trucks on local and over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight efficiently using electric pallet jack, and cargo straps, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule integrity. Transport packaged/refrigerated food. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure and after delivery. Maintain accurate ELD and/or driving hours, deliveries, and cargo handling in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with owner and dispatcher regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. A least 1 year proven experience in commercial tuck driving, including delivery driving and route driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer equipment. Knowledge of manual transmission operation required. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation. Understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight loading/unloading. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling.
