Job Description
Job Summary The driver is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from medical appointments. Drivers provide reliable, courteous, and professional service while ensuring passenger safety and confidentiality. Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport clients to medical appointments and return them home on schedule. Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle when needed. Maintain punctual pickup and drop-off times using company scheduling systems or apps. Follow assigned routes while adjusting for traffic or appointment changes. Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients and medical staff. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Keep vehicles clean, fueled and properly maintained. Follow all company policies, HIPAA confidendtiality guidelines and safety procedures. Immediately report accidents, vehicle issues, delays or passenger concerns. Use defensive driving techniques and comply with all California traffic laws. Provide excellent customer service and treat all passengers with dignity and respect. Qualifications Valid California driver's license with clean driving record. Minimum age requirement per company insurance guidelines. Ability to pass background check, drug screening and DMV check. Previous professional driving or customer service experience preffered. Prior experience handling freight that involves logistics cargo handling or hazardous goods is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Skills and Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual and professional appearance. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Basic smartphone or tablet skills for routing and scheduling apps. Good knowledge of local streets, highways and medical facilities. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and drive for extended periods. Ability to assist passengers with mobility needs. Ability to enter and exit vehicle frequently throughout the day. Work Environment Local driving throughout assigned service area of Madera. Exposure to varying weather and traffic conditions. Schedule Full-time and part-time positions available, Monday - Friday. May include early mornings and evenings. Compensation Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases based on performance and reliability.
