CDL Truck Driver - Solid Waste & Recycling Transportation The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of solid waste and recycling materials throughout Northern and Eastern Humboldt County. The position involves operating a variety of truck and trailer combinations, including roll-off debris box transfer trailers, flatbed trailers, van trailers, chip trailers, and tanker trailers. Applicants who do not currently possess a tanker endorsement must be willing to obtain the endorsement upon hire. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with occasional overtime as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently operate trucks and various trailer types while transporting materials. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections. Secure, tarp, and inspect loads to ensure materials are transported safely. Complete transportation logs, paperwork, and required documentation accurately and timely. Coordinate daily with dispatch regarding schedules, and changing transportation needs. Maintain a clean and orderly truck and work area. Follow all company safety policies, transportation regulations, and safe operating procedures.

Physical Requirements:

This is a physically demanding position. The driver must be able to: Frequently climb in and out of the truck cab and onto trailers or bins. Tarp, secure, and inspect loads as required. Perform frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and walking. Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds. .

Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime.
