POSITION PURPOSE:
The single largest factor to the success of TLC Medical Transport resides with our employees. We value efforts and provide them with a competitive compensation package.Driver Role:
Responds to non-emergency requests and transports patients to and from doctors' appointments, medical facilities and other destinations. We are looking for a hard working, dedicated driver to successfully transport patients while providing a high level of service. The driver must have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required and adapt quickly to the constant changing environment of the medical transport business.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Operate and drive a wheelchair lift van or a gurney stretcher van. This is a specially equipped full-sized van that has a lift for raising patients and wheelchairs into the van. Thorough knowledge of Riverside County, including major traffic patterns. Communication with dispatch on a regular, consistent basis. It is the responsibility of the driver to let dispatch know when they are picking up/dropping off the patients. Neatly and accurately document pertinent patient information on all required forms/documents. Turns in appropriate documents prior to leaving duty. Maintain and replenish vehicle, equipment and supplies as needed. Maintain a clean and courteous appearance, professional and ethical behavior while working cooperatively with patients, other health care professionals, co-workers and the public. Maintain a safe and healthy workplace in accordance with OSHA standards, company policies and standard operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance consistent with scheduled hours which may include overtime.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Current State Driver's License and Satisfactory Driving Record 23 years of age minimum Current CPR and First Aid Certification Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence Knowledge of company's products and services Other qualifications specific to local operation and/or contract requirementsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. While performing the duties of this position, Driver is regularly required to bending/stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting at established weight requirements, etc. (satisfactorily meet company physical assessments/tests). Some patients have a wheelchair ramp at their home, but lifting patients in their wheelchairs may be necessary. Must be able to work a 40 to 50-hour work week and must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time. Must have ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material.MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER WORK AIDS
Must be able to drive and operate wheelchair accessible vans. Operate wheelchair lift, securely strap wheelchairs for safe transportation, and operate oxygen tanks for patients requiring oxygen. Must be able to use telephone systems, Thomas guide and other mapping tools.JOB DESCRIPTION REVIEW
