Physical Certification Full Job Description A day in the life Start your shift at our Rialto yard, review your route, and walk your tractor-trailer flatbed for a thorough safety check. You confirm orders, position for loading, and prepare to move reinforced concrete pipe to nearby job sites. With a rig rated for at least 80,000 lbs GVW, you navigate local routes, communicate with dispatch, and keep meticulous logs of drive time, breaks, and receipts. Please visit our website at www.thompsonpipegroup.com Role highlights Local-only deliveries; home every day $26/hour base, plus overtime and bonuses; typical annual earnings around $95,000 Operate tractor-trailer flatbeds (80,000 lbs GVW) Rain or Shine work environment What you'll do Transport concrete pipe to customer and job-site locations Verify orders against shipment documentation before departure Conduct pre/post-trip inspections; report mechanical or safety issues to in-house mechanics Document and log work/rest periods and miles; retain fuel and toll receipts Comply with ICC and DOT rules (size, weight, routes, parking, and breaks) and company policies Maneuver into tight loading and unloading positions Collect and confirm delivery instructions Report defects, accidents, and violations promptly Skills that set you up for success Adaptability and foresight to handle traffic, weather, and other unexpected situations Strong communication with dispatch Safety-first mindset at all times Comfort driving extended local hours when needed What you'll need At least 3 years Class A CDL Experience Clean driving record with no moving violations 2-5 years flatbed experience preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to pass background, MVR, drug test, and DOT physical DOT Medical Card and current CDL Monday-Friday schedule with occasional Saturday flexibility
