Paid Days Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary DUTIES:
Under general supervision, to operate a diesel or gas powered vehicle to transport up to nine special education students to and from schools within and beyond the City of Sonoma. Attends to the special needs of a specific special education student or a group of special education students requiring transportation to and from school. Tends to related clerical work. A small vehicle driver works split shifts. May operate a special ramp vehicle and/or load and unload students in wheelchairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of:
    Safe driving practices; provisions of California Motor Vehicle Code; basic preventive maintenance requirements of automotive equipment, First Aid and CPR.
  • Ability to: Drive a vehicle safely and efficiently; maintain order among students; maintain a clean vehicle; follow oral and written direction; prepare accurate reports of operations; maintain route time schedules; complete district training programs; do other work as directed and per job description; adapt to unanticipated change of route.

  • Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver's License (must maintain)
  • a safe driving record with the California Department of Motor Vehicles
  • District will pay for: Basic First Aid and CPR certificates, and defensive driving course
  • Post-Offer/Pre-Placement Assessment, Fingerprinting, and TB test required upon initial employment.
REQUIRED WITH EDJOIN APPLICATION
  • An official (not digital) DMV printout of driving record/history.
  • Three professional/supervisory references.
