Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Yosemite Guide/Driver to lead immersive full-day tours from Sonora to Yosemite National Park. This position involves picking up guests in Sonora, transporting them in a 15-passenger van to Yosemite, guiding them through the park's highlights, and returning them—all within an 8-hour shift. The ideal candidate will have a background in adventure, natural and cultural history, geology, or earth sciences, and a genuine passion for sharing stories, landscapes, and local lore. This is a guest-facing role that requires outstanding communication skills, professionalism, and a deep love for the outdoors and human connection. Responsibilities Drive a 15-passenger van from Sonora to Yosemite and back while ensuring guest safety and comfort. Lead engaging, informative tours of Yosemite's iconic landmarks, natural features, and cultural sites. Provide thoughtful commentary on topics such as geology, ecology, human history, wildlife, and local stories. Build rapport with a diverse group of guests, helping them feel welcomed, inspired, and cared for. Monitor group dynamics and adapt tour pacing and content based on interest and ability levels. Ensure all vehicle safety checks and transportation protocols are followed. Support the team with logistics, communication, and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude. Qualifications Class B CDL with passenger endorsement. A background in natural sciences, interpretation, geology, history, or related fields. Excellent storytelling and interpersonal skills—must love meeting and inspiring people. Previous experience in guiding, education, or customer service preferred. Comfortable driving a 15-passenger van on mountain roads. Able to hike short distances and work outdoors in varied conditions. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date). Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
