Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers on long haul routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to plan optimal routes for timely deliveries across multiple states or regions. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety during transportation. Transport refrigerated trailers containing temperature-sensitive goods or hazardous materials while maintaining strict safety protocols. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Manage documentation such as delivery logs, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and compliance paperwork in accordance with regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any unforeseen issues during transit. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to refrigerated trailer operation, hazardous materials (Hazmat), and tanker loads. Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with long haul or over-the-road routes involving freight transportation. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient delivery schedules. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks related to load & unload operations. Experience with freight logistics cargo handling including load securing on flatbeds or tanker trucks. Strong driving record demonstrating safe driving habits and adherence to all safety protocols.
