Lowbed Driver Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Lowbed Driver to join our high-performing, team-oriented environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with a well-established and growing company specializing in grading, concrete, and pipeline contracting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic while representing our company on and off the road.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate a lowbed trailer on public highways while maintaining a professional company image. Inspect and report all equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs. Keep truck and trailer clean, safe, and well maintained. Load and unload equipment independently multiple times per day. Properly secure loads using chains, straps, and binding devices. Assist with operation of other company vehicles and equipment (e.g., trailer dump, triaxle, water truck) as needed. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong ability to follow directions and work independently. Valid Class A California Driver's License with current DOT medical card . Clean driving record with proven safe driving experience. Excellent communication and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of lowbed or related hauling experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of performing physically demanding work. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed. Good hand-eye-foot coordination and sense of balance. Ability to climb on and off trucks and equipment safely. Proficient in securing cargo with chains and binding devices.
Work Schedule:
Start time: 4:00 A.M. Must be available for occasional nights and weekends as required.
Compensation:
Starting rate: $36/hour , depending on experience.
