Job Description

We are urgently hiring Class A CDL Truck Drivers (Home Weekly) for our Vernon, CA location! Pay Range:
$76,000 - $106,000 average annual (Dependent on Experience)
Performance Pay:
90-Day and regular annual reviews - merit pay increases based on performance.

Position Information:
Drives and delivers product locally in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area and additional states to include: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona. Represents the company as an ambassador of customer service and excellence. Engages third party assistance with delivery unloading when necessary. Manages licensing, medical certifications, hours of service and mandatory DOT regulations.
Essential Position Functions:
Trained to drive a Semi Tractor Pull Trailers in a safe manner Abide by roadway speed limits and laws Perform Pre-trip inspections Adhere to hours of service rules Monitor refrigerated trailer and load temperatures Maintain all trip and load documents Deliver and pick up product in a timely manner Professional behavior and clean attire when representing Alpine Keep tractor clean, sweep out trailers Manage licensing, medical certifications and DOT regulations Constant communication with Transportation Supervisor Timely submittals of required documentation such as Driver Sheets, Load info, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to drive in inclement weather Strong safety skills and awareness while driving Forklift experience Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Professional Customer Service Skills Education & Experience:
A Class A CDL with acceptable MVR and PSP Minimum of 1 year of recent verifiable driving experience Successful passage of Road Test DOT Medical Card / Certification Successful passage of DOT pre-employment drug screen, physical agility test, medical examination and criminal background check. Special Skills (if applicable): Desire to contribute to a positive culture and be a member of a cohesive team. Desire to learn and advance Drive to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers Flexible - able to manage constant interruptions, changing schedules and tasks Patience and empathy for customer and team needs
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle or feel; reach with both arms and hands, talk and hear Sedentary, driving for long hours at a time. Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs. and use equipment such as pallet jack. Exposure to fluctuating weather and warehouse environments.
Work Environment:
Work performed primarily in vehicle, with frequent warehouse, loading dock and customer interactions. Will need to manage frequent distractions and elevated noise levels at times. Sitting for long periods of time, with physical demands as listed to receive and deliver loads.
Supervision:
This position has no direct Supervisory responsibility. This position receives Supervision depending upon the assignment. In some cases, Supervisor outlines steps involved in completing assignments or standard procedures are available to enable the employee to work in a routine fashion. The end results of this work are sometimes checked.
