ob Summary We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will safely operate commercial tractor-trailers and other company vehicles to transport and deliver building materials, freight, and other products to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, excellent customer service, and the ability to efficiently manage deliveries while maintaining compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and manual transmission vehicles, on local and over-the-road routes as assigned. Load, unload, and secure freight, including lumber, plywood, molding, hardware, foam products, and other building materials. Verify all items loaded onto the truck against delivery paperwork and customer orders. Deliver products accurately and on schedule while maintaining exceptional customer service. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections, including brakes, tires, lights, gauges, and other safety equipment. Maintain driver logs and all required documentation in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS systems and route planning tools. Pick up materials from vendors and process customer returns, ensuring all documentation is accurate. Record and verify freight loaded and unloaded during deliveries. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other loading equipment safely when authorized. Assist warehouse personnel with pulling, staging, and loading orders when needed. Keep trucks clean, organized, and ready for reloading. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, accidents, and equipment issues promptly. Transport specialized freight as required, including flatbed, refrigerated, or other cargo types while complying with all applicable regulations. Adhere to company safety standards and maintain a professional appearance and attitude with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Required Qualifications Valid CDL Class A driver's license with a clean driving record. Minimum driving experience operating commercial vehicles and tractor-trailers. Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, and transportation safety standards. Ability to safely inspect, operate, and maintain commercial vehicles. Experience with freight handling, cargo securement, and delivery procedures. Ability to read and interpret delivery documents, routes, work orders, and safety procedures. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Forklift experience preferred. Experience hauling building materials, flatbed freight, or similar products preferred. Work Environment Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical equipment, loading docks, and warehouses. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, noise, vibration, and other conditions commonly found in transportation and building material delivery environments.
