is a fully integrated heavy construction and site development general contractor, providing construction services within the State of Colorado. Gould Construction was incorporated on June 11, 1979 is operated by the 3rd generation of the Gould family. Gould Construction has become the leading heavy and highway contractor in Western Colorado employing close to 100 employees with diverse range of experience.
Position Overview:
We are seeking reliable and skilled CDL Class A and B Dump Truck Drivers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials for construction and excavation projects. The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate CDL Class A or B trucks to transport materials such as sand, gravel, asphalt, and debris to and from job sites.
  • Efficiently load and unload materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and compliance with safety regulations
  • Plan and follow efficient routes to deliver materials on time while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or needed repairs.
  • Secure equipment and loads properly to prevent shifting or spillage during transport.
  • Perform minor adjustments and routine maintenance on vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while operating vehicles and working on job sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of loads, delivery times, and vehicle maintenance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with site supervisors, field crew, and dispatch to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
  • Fuel vehicles as needed to ensure they are ready for daily operations.
Qualifications:
Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record. 2 years of previous experience operating dump trucks or similar vehicles. Knowledge of safe driving practices and DOT traffic regulations. Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and inspections. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). Strong understanding of safety practices related to construction and excavation. Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods. Construction sites may be noisy, dirty, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Must always adhere to all safety regulations and protocols. Flexibility to work weekends or after hours as needed. Requires reaching, crawling, climbing, grasping, kneeling, squatting and twisting.
