A Truck Driver Trainer trains and teaches new drivers as they prepare for licensing examination. Often accompanies new drivers on routes for a few weeks to a few months.
True Safety CDL School is seeking an experienced Contract CDL Trainer to join our growing team in Greeley, Colorado. Our primary need is weekday evening coverage in Greeley , with additional opportunities available on weekends. If you have daytime availability during the week, that is a major bonus and may be utilized for additional class coverage as needed. We also operate a CDL training location in Henderson, CO . If you're interested in supporting both locations, we'd love to hear from you, but Henderson availability is not required .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CDL
Training Conduct hands-on and classroom CDL training aligned with ELDT and Colorado requirements Train students in pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, yard skills, and on-the-road driving Prepare students for CDL testing and ensure overall test readiness Student Coaching & Evaluation Assess student progress and driving performance Provide clear, constructive coaching and feedback Help students build the skills and confidence required to meet state CDL standards Compliance & Safety Maintain accurate training documentation and student records Follow ELDT requirements, state regulations, and True Safety policies Promote and enforce strict safety standards Model professional commercial driving practices at all times Equipment Help ensure training trucks and equipment are safe and ready for use Promptly communicate any equipment or maintenance concerns
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Class A CDL required Prior CDL training, driver training, or relevant instructional experience preferred Strong understanding of CDL regulations and commercial driving standards Clean driving record preferred Strong communication and coaching skills Comfortable working with students from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels Dependable and able to work independently within an established training program Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish CDL training or state testing experience Experience in construction, oil & gas, transportation, or commercial fleet environments Flexible availability beyond evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, drive, and instruct for extended periods Ability to safely climb in and out of commercial vehicles Ability to observe and coach close-range, yard, and on-road driving activities Ability to lift at least 15 lbs. COMPENSATION
$28.00•32.00 per hour , based on experience, qualifications, and availability. This is a contract opportunity with the potential for consistent hours and additional class coverage as our CDL program continues to grow.
