WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING CDL
Drivers use semi's to move our product between locations in Sterling, CO. Sometimes, they might need to load/unload the trucks or help in other areas of the facility. CDL Drivers must be safety-minded, observant, and have good attention to detail.
  • Transfer of trailers between facilities in truck - CDL required.
  • Operation of yard truck to position trailers to appropriate loading/unloading docks as requested by shipping and receiving departments.
  • Work with live-load drivers on dock door availability for loading and unloading.
  • Daily yard truck and trailer inspections prior to use
  • Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
  • Maintain accurate log for all trailers on the yard
  • Operate a forklift within the plant during non-driving time when loading/unloading trucks
  • When truck is not in operation, the driver will assist with other duties including driving forklift as per instructed by manager
  • Conduct daily inspections of the vehicles at the end of the shift and report any problems or damages to management
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklift (sit down and stand up); perform required daily inspections
  • When filling in for loader/stager, must be able to read and understand Bills of Lading and Pick Sheets
  • Using daily pick sheet, pick full and partial pallets, wrap pallets when necessary, stage product for loading, check pallets for accuracy to order
  • Maintain clean and organized aisles and rack storage, consolidate partial pallets when needed
  • Inventory product as needed; label, sort, wrap and tie product Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms. Perform other duties as assigned by Mill Supervisor or Lead
