Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and be proficient in operating various types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, dry bulk and end dump. Must be able to drive a manual 18 speed tractor. This position involves hauling material in and out for the concrete plant efficiently while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Duties Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, dry bulk and end dumps to transport freight to designated locations. Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods. Navigate assigned routes while adhering to delivery schedules and maintaining accurate delivery records. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Utilize manual transmission as needed for specific vehicle operations. Operate front end loader and other equipment as required for loading and unloading tasks. Maintain communication with dispatch regarding delivery status and any issues encountered during transit. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle used for deliveries. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating various vehicle types (tanker, flatbed, etc.). Proven experience as a class A driver, with a strong understanding of route driving principles for larger tractor trailers. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing delivery schedules. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight. A commitment to safety practices while on the road and at delivery sites.
