GMTG Sales Manager Job Summary:

As a Driver at Palmer's, a family-owned business proudly serving our community for over 100 years, you are the last point of contact for our Gourmet To-Go business. In this role, you will safely and professionally deliver customers' orders directly to homes and other designated locations. This position provides a friendly, professional customer experience while representing Palmer's in the community. Attention to detail and a hospitality driven mindset are essential This is a part-time, variable-hour position. Hours and assignments vary based on customer demand and business needs. Final delivery needs may not be known until shortly before the delivery date, so assignments may occasionally be offered with short notice. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely load, transport, and deliver customer orders. Provide friendly and professional service at each delivery. Follow delivery instructions and communicate with the Palmer's team regarding delays, customer concerns, or other issues. Safely operate company vehicles and, when authorized, occasionally use a personal vehicle for company deliveries. Maintain the cleanliness and condition of vehicles and delivery equipment. Complete required delivery documentation and accurately record time and mileage. Assist with loading, staging, organizing, and other related operational tasks as needed. Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and Palmer's policies. Protect customer orders and respect customer privacy and property. Report accidents, vehicle issues, or other incidents promptly. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Successful completion of required background and motor vehicle record checks. Reliable and punctual. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment. Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload customer orders. Ability to use GPS/navigation technology. Ability to meet Palmer's vehicle and insurance requirements when using a personal vehicle. Schedule Delivery assignments are scheduled based on customer demand and business needs. Employees are not required to remain available when they are not scheduled. Once an assignment is accepted or scheduled, employees are expected to report as scheduled. Individual assignments may vary in length, including shorter assignments. Compensation will be administered in accordance with applicable federal and Connecticut wage-and-hour requirements. Personal Vehicle Use Palmer's vehicles will generally be used for deliveries when available. Employees may occasionally be authorized to use a personal vehicle for company business and must meet Palmer's applicable driver's license, insurance, registration, and vehicle requirements. Authorized business mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with Palmer's mileage reimbursement policy. Physical Requirements Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload customer orders and regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and enter and exit a vehicle.
