JOB POSTING HIGHWAY DRIVER/MECHANIC

The Town of East Granby is seeking qualified applicants for a Highway Driver/Mechanic position for the Department of Public Works. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week benefit eligible position and is represented by

AFSCME, AFL-CIO

Local 1303-253. The base hourly rate is $39.85. This position performs maintenance and repair of the Town's fleet, including heavy and light equipment (both diesel and gasoline powered), small motors, vehicles, and machinery. This position also performs work in the construction, repair and upkeep of town roads, bridges, grounds, buildings and facilities. Qualified candidates will have a diploma from a trade/vocational school along with three (3) years' experience as a skilled mechanic in the repair and maintenance of automotive, heavy truck and heavy construction equipment along with experience in construction or road maintenance. Demonstrated knowledge of operations, repair and maintenance of all fleet vehicles and equipment, as well as hydraulic and electrical systems is required. A valid CDL is required.
