  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid CDL License
  • CLEAN Driving Record
  • Up to Date DOT Medical Card
  • Must be able to pass drug test if requested
  • Good attendance and on time is a must.
  • Required to perform task that include heavy lifting of 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  • Performs complete pre-trip inspection including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls.
  • Drives heavy diesel trucks to and from job locations and plants.
  • Courteously interacts with customers, dispatcher(s) and supervisors.
  • Cleans truck daily after use. Cleans bed after asphalt load.
  • Immediately reports any safety or customer service issues of which the employee is made aware to supervisor or manager.
  • Completes required route/productivity sheets, Vehicle Check List, Weekly Report, and other forms as required.
  • Ensures compliance with DOT and Company hours of service standards
  • Performs driver check-in procedures upon returning to the facility at the end of the day, including post-trip inspections.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures; participates in all required safety training and meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing to take initiative.
  • Understand hand signals given by lead paver.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to work at the designated start time.
  • Be able to work overtime when required.
  • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Required to perform task that include heavy lifting of 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA
  • Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment. (Requirement by State Law for Construction Industry)
  • Employees are held accountable for all duties of traffic control on the job.
EXPECTATIONS
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record required
  • Being able to work in a team with the Operations Manager, Sales Manager, Asphalt Manager, Seal Coating Manager, and Pavement Marking Manager coordinates and supervises the asphalt paving process from the conceptual development stage through to final construction.
  • Key activities are focused on ensuring that specifications are being followed, work is proceeding according to schedule and the end result is within stated budget parameters.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
