Job Description

SUMMARY Responsible for the safe operation and general maintenance of company vehicles. Includes the transportation of passengers, making material deliveries and maintaining detailed accurate records. During non-transportation downtime, may support ongoing general maintenance of facilities and agency vehicles as needed and by mutual agreement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
: This position requires such typical work operations and responsibilities as, but not limited to: Working with members of Administration to develop and maintain a scheduled pickup and delivery of clients, visitors and guests. When required, support a split shift schedule. Assisting passengers as required to enter and leave company vehicles. Complete and maintain timely records required for accountability in the area of client attendance, mileage and maintenance, expense and incident reports, delivery logs and vehicle inspections. Taking necessary preventative action to insure the safety and well being of passengers. Maintaining the confidentiality of the client emergency number book and updating when required. Participate in field trips and chaperone events. Performing periodic repairs/maintenance of the facilities and vehicles as necessary. Inspecting and documenting maintenance/inspection records and purchasing maintenance supplies as required.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Work with Transportation Specialist to develop efficient transportation routes. 2. Responsible for performing work duties in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety practices and providing input into enhancing overall company safety. 3. Work with and assist others as required. Performs additional duties at the request of the Administrative Team. 4. Maintain cleanliness of assigned company vehicle, including cleaning inside and out.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Valid Connecticut drivers license. 2. Satisfactory driving record. 3. Pass all local, state and federal requirements for obtaining and maintaining a valid Public Passenger Permit. 4. Ability to operate vehicle accessibility equipment, wheelchair lift and tie downs. Basic knowledge of vehicle routine maintenance. Experience & basic knowledge of repair methods for facilities. 5. Obtain and/or maintain CPR Certification/First Aide training. 6. High School Diploma or
GED. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.Ability to assist clients with limited mobility on and off vehicle. Ability to lift materials on and off vehicles as well in maintenance work. 2. Ability to operate all Kuhn vehicles
