Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic delivery team as an Independent Contractor Driver, utilizing your own SUV or mini van to provide reliable, efficient delivery services. This role offers the opportunity to operate your vehicle independently while delivering exceptional customer service. As a key part of our logistics network, you will be responsible for safely transporting packages, managing deliveries, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and professional service. Your proactive approach and dedication will help us meet the demands of a fast-paced delivery environment while enjoying the flexibility of self-employment. Responsibilities Safely operate your personal vehicle, such as an SUV or mini van, to complete scheduled deliveries across designated routes Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment like pallet jacks when necessary Follow all traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines, and company safety policies during route driving Accurately scan and track deliveries using mobile devices, ensuring proper documentation for each shipment Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with recipients and addressing any delivery concerns professionally Adhere to safe lifting practices when handling packages of varying weights, including heavy items requiring manual handling skills Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine checks to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards Experience Prior experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to handle manual handling tasks, including lifting heavy packages safely and efficiently Familiarity with commercial driving, including box trucks or similar vehicles, is a plus but not mandatory Knowledge of route planning and driving in urban or suburban environments to optimize delivery efficiency Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is advantageous Strong understanding of traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and weight handling in the workplace Excellent customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and reliability This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated drivers with their own vehicles to thrive in a flexible independent contractor position.
