Job Description

Position Summary:
The Yard Jockey is responsible for moving trucks in and around the yard of the production facility, ensuring the equipment and cargo are in good working order and performing related duties as assigned. This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service and adhering to industry safety standards.

Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to: Docking and repositioning of trailers. Moving semi-trailers within a cargo yard environment. Inspecting both tractor and containers to ensure smooth maneuvering of all equipment and product. May be asked to use other equipment such as forklift. May be asked to assist in manually offloading and loading product or equipment Completing work-related documentation such as bills of lading.
Desired skills and experience:
A current valid CDL Class A license which must contain valid Hazardous Materials (H) and Tank Vehicle (N) endorsements. Clean and safe driving record in full compliance with all DOT licensing requirements. Experience with operating a switcher truck preferred but not required. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions. Mechanically inclined skills (preferred but not required): High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at times as well as bend, climb, reach, & rotate as needed. Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
