Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission on local delivery routes, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity during transit. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to reach delivery locations promptly while optimizing routes for time and fuel efficiency. Transport various types of freight including refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials (Hazmat), flatbed loads, tankers, and automobile transportation. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to maintain vehicle safety standards and compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Deliver freight accurately to customers, providing excellent delivery driver service while maintaining professional communication. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo handling activities, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving within local or regional areas. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and safe manual handling practices. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient deliveries. Ability to comply with DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations (if applicable), and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation. Experience working with refrigerated trailers or specialized freight such as flatbed or tanker loads is preferred but not required.
