Move with precision, drive your career forward. At QCD, our local Yard Hostlers are the masterminds of our warehouse flow- positioning trailers with precision, safety, and pride to keep our supply chain moving.
In This Role, You'll:
Communicate with warehouse and transportation staff on a regular basis to coordinate proper trailer drop & hook location. Operate commercial motor carrier equipment and inspect and monitor tractor-trailer for defects, check reefer fuel and refer temperatures. Pre-cool reefer units to Company specifications. Operates tractor-trailer equipment in accordance to D.O.T. regulations on or off company property for docking and loading/unloading of product Complete unloading of return trailers and wash and sweep out trailers if necessary Chock wheels after trailer is in proper door. procedure on each trailer Verify unit departure times and align equipment; accordingly, making sure tractor is hooked appropriate to trailer for assigned routeWhat You'll Bring:
A valid Class A CDL, current DOT medical card, and at least 2 year of tractor-trailer driving and delivery experience Ability to lift 5-75+ lbs., stay active throughout the shift, and work in multi-temperature environments (coolers/freezers) Strong customer service skills and clear communication with dispatch, store teams, and fellow drivers Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 operation Ability to complete vehicle inspections, maintain DOT logs, and meet all compliance requirements, including reading and speaking English as required by DOT regulations As required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, commercial drivers must read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand highway signs and traffic signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries in reports and records.The Schedule & Setting:
Must be available for night, weekends, and holidays Yard Setting must be able to work in all weather conditions.Pay & Benefits:
Pay Range (Base Pay): $24.28/HR Weekly pay (every Friday)Other Compensation:
