Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated Cargo and 16 ft Truck Driver and Warehouse Staff member to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves operating a box truck for local deliveries, managing warehouse operations, and ensuring the safe handling and transportation of goods. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining efficient delivery schedules, adhering to safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate a 16 ft box truck for local deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load, unload, and secure cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Manage warehouse operations including inventory management, organizing stock, and maintaining cleanliness. Assist with manual lifting and moving of goods, ensuring safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Use mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication with dispatch. Load and unload goods efficiently while ensuring proper weight distribution and safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service during delivery interactions by communicating clearly and professionally. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements. Operate material handling equipment safely to facilitate warehouse tasks. Follow company policies on heavy lifting, safe manual handling practices, and workplace weight handling procedures. Requirements Prior experience in warehouse operations combined with commercial driving experience preferred. Valid driver's license suitable for operating a box truck or van; commercial truck driving certification is advantageous. Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route planning and driving routes. Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and ability to operate manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques. Experience in using mobile devices for navigation or delivery documentation. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management. Customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries. Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures including proper weight handling in the workplace.
