Overview As a Driver Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our transportation team by ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the driver with various tasks related to the safe and timely delivery of goods and services. You'll be an essential part of our logistics chain, helping to maintain high standards of customer satisfaction while navigating diverse driving environments. What you'll do Assist the driver in loading and unloading , ensuring that all items are secured for transport. Help navigate routes effectively, utilizing GPS technology and maps to optimize delivery times. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Communicate clearly with the driver regarding any changes in schedules or routes. Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking shipments and documenting any issues encountered. Support the driver in managing paperwork related to freight, including bills of lading and delivery receipts. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient handling of goods during loading and unloading processes. Basic qualifications Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices. Preferred qualifications Experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or transportation. Knowledge of operating various commercial vehicles, including box trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance checks is a plus. Experience with equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or tow trucks is advantageous. Previous work in warehouse settings or heavy equipment operation is preferred.
