Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or specialized freight vehicles, across assigned routes. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo safety and security. Navigate using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Deliver freight accurately to various locations, including automobile transportation hubs and logistics centers, maintaining professionalism at all times. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials (Hazmat), manual transmission trucks, and logistics cargo handling preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT standards, and safe truck loading/unloading procedures. Ability to handle manual tasks such as load securing, cargo handling, and truck maintenance checks. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning across OTR routes. Experience with different types of freight including dangerous goods or specialty loads like tanker or flatbed is a plus.
