Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver/Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy construction machinery, including dump trucks, excavators, loaders, and backhoes, to support various excavation, grading, and utility installation projects. Your expertise will ensure efficient material transport, precise site work, and adherence to all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while maintaining a focus on safety and operational excellence. Duties Safely operate dump trucks, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other construction machinery in accordance with federal safety regulations and company policies Transport materials such as dirt, gravel, debris, and equipment across construction sites efficiently and responsibly Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Assist with excavation and grading tasks using heavy machinery like excavators and loaders to achieve precise site leveling and utility installation Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before digging or excavation activities commence Follow construction utility work procedures to prevent damage to existing infrastructure and ensure project safety standards are met Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and site operations for accountability and reporting purposes Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving and heavy equipment operation within a construction environment Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers Familiarity with construction grading techniques and excavation processes Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures Ability to operate loaders, excavators (including Caterpillar models), backhoes, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently Construction site experience with an understanding of utility work, site layout, and grading standards Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and following detailed instructions Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required ; relevant certifications in heavy equipment operation are highly desirable Join our team if you're eager to bring your construction expertise into a fast-paced environment where safety is paramount!
