Job Description

Job Title:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver -
Heavy Civil & Site Development Job Type:
Full-Time Compensation:
Pay dependent on experience (DOE) and applicable endorsements Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL Driver to join our heavy civil site work team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting heavy machinery, aggregate, construction materials, and job site liquid/waste across dynamic, active construction sites. You will work closely with site superintendents, foremen, and field crews to keep earthwork, utility, and paving projects moving on schedule.
Key Responsibilities Transport & Delivery:
Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles—including but not limited to dump trucks, lowboys, flatbeds, water trucks, and heavy haul trailers—to move equipment, dirt, rock, asphalt, and concrete.
Equipment Loading & Securement:
Load, tie down, and unload heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, skid steers) in strict compliance with DOT rules and company safety procedures.
Site Driving & Maneuvering:
Drive confidently on unpaved surfaces, rough terrain, tight job sites, and off-road civil construction locations.
Inspections & Compliance:
Conduct thorough daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) / driver logs, and ensure full compliance with
FMCSA/DOT
regulations.
Maintenance & Upkeep:
Perform basic routine maintenance (greasing, fluid top-offs, minor checks) and maintain clean interior/exterior equipment.
Site Support:
Willingness to assist ground crews with manual labor or traffic control/flagging when trucks are not actively moving.
Required Qualifications Commercial Driver's License:
Valid Class A CDL.
Medical Certification:
Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Driving Record:
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major moving violations.
Physical Ability:
Able to lift up to 50-70 lbs, climb in/out of vehicles repeatedly, work in varying outdoor weather, and tarp/secure loads manually. Preferred Qualifications & Endorsements (Increases Base Pay)
Experience:
2+ years driving commercial trucks in heavy civil, earthwork, underground utilities, or asphalt paving environments.
Endorsements Heavy Equipment Hauling:
Proven track record loading, hauling, and unloading oversized lowboy equipment trailers.
Compensation & Benefits Base Pay:
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with years of civil experience and active endorsements .
Overtime:
Available/required based on seasonal construction demand.
