Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Hook EM Up Wrecker Services is hiring four tow truck driver/operators. Immediate hire for the right candidates We have the Triple AAA Service contract for the local counties. Seeking hard working, dependable individuals to join our growing business. Experienced preferred, but also willing to train the right person. A tow truck driver transports disabled, damaged, or illegally parked vehicles to designated locations, such as repair shops, impound lots, or accident scenes . They provide roadside assistance—including jumping batteries, changing tires, unlocking vehicles, and supplying fuel—while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Key Job Responsibilities :
Vehicle Transport:
Safely connect, load, and transport vehicles using flatbeds, hooks, or winches, preventing further damage.
Roadside Assistance:
Perform on-the-spot repairs, such as jump-starting engines, changing flat tires, and fixing lockouts.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company protocols, often working in hazardous traffic conditions.
Documentation & Service:
Maintain logs of service calls, communicate with dispatchers, and provide customer service to distressed motorists.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the tow truck to ensure it is in proper working order.
Qualifications & Skills :
License & Record:
Must have a Valid driver's license with a clean driving record ; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
Drug screen:
Must be able to pass a drug test in accordance with DOT policies
Physical Stamina:
Ability to work in varied weather conditions, operate heavy equipment, and lift over 50-75 pounds.
Technical Ability:
Basic knowledge of mechanics to safely secure and handle different vehicle types.
Communication:
Strong customer service skills to interact with clients in high-pressure situations.
Work Environment:
Flexibility:
Requires working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
