Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission on regional routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), or other specialized cargo using appropriate trailers like refrigerated, flatbed, or tanker units. Use GPS navigation systems to plan and follow efficient routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adjusting for traffic or road conditions. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and incident reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse teams, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving within regional areas. Demonstrated ability to handle refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment such as hazardous materials containers. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazard classification procedures, and hazardous materials regulations. Experience with manual handling techniques for freight loading/unloading and truck loading/unloading procedures. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Ability to operate trucks equipped with manual transmissions safely and efficiently.
