Sanitation Driver / Pitcher Waste Collection • CDL Required • Residential Routes Please read carefully — this role alternates between driver and pitcher responsibilities. Steel-toed boots required every day — no exceptions. All other PPE provided. We're looking for an energetic, reliable Sanitation Driver/Pitcher to join a dedicated 2-person truck team. You'll alternate between driving a commercial garbage truck on pre-assigned residential routes and riding the back of the truck as a pitcher to collect waste. This role plays a vital part in community cleanliness and environmental sustainability — and requires physical stamina, a safety-first mindset, and a great attitude in all weather conditions.

Pay:

$24.00 per hour What you'll do Drive garbage trucks on pre-assigned routes; alternate as pitcher to collect waste from residential homes Load trash and transport waste safely to disposal sites Tag bulk items for scheduled separate pickup Adhere to established routes and schedules using route maps Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; ensure truck is fueled, serviced, and cleaned Perform light preventive maintenance on vehicles Follow all safety protocols including traffic laws, OSHA standards, and hazardous waste disposal regulations Interact courteously and professionally with residents during collection Respond to emergency callouts as needed What you need Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and current DOT medical card 2+ years of commercial driving experience within the past 5 years Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks — carrying, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing Ability to work in all weather conditions with physical stamina throughout the full shift Steel-toed boots required on day one — no exceptions Must pass background check and drug screening Strong team player with a safety-conscious, professional attitude Nice to have Prior experience in waste collection, sanitation, or a related field #

KCJ Pay:
