About the Role We're seeking an energetic and reliable Sanitation Driver / Pitcher to join a dynamic team! In this vital role, you'll be one of a 2-person truck team, safely operating a commercial vehicle to transport waste or bulk items across designated routes. You and your partner will swap between driver and pitcher roles throughout the route — as pitcher, you'll ride the back of the truck to collect waste from residential homes. Pay:
$24.00 per hourWhat You'll DoDrive garbage trucks on pre-assigned routesRide the back of the truck; load trash safely and transport/dump waste at disposal sitesTag bulk items for separate pickup schedulingAdhere to established routes and schedules using route mapsPerform daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections; ensure trucks are properly fueled, serviced, and cleanedFollow safety protocols for waste handling, disposal, and vehicle operation, including traffic lawsPerform light preventive maintenance on trucksProvide courteous, professional customer service to residents during collectionRespond to emergency call-outs as neededWhat You BringValid Commercial Driver License (CDL) and current DOT medical card2 years of commercial driving experience within the past 5 years (waste industry experience a plus but not required)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as neededAbility to pass background and drug screeningSteel-toed boots required dailyUnderstanding of occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards and PPE useAbility to carry, reach, bend, push, pull, and climb during routesPhysical stamina and ability to work in adverse weather conditionsStrong attention to detail and a team-player mindset
