Description:
Dallas 1 Construction & Development is a family-owned business that has been operating for over 30 years. We are looking for a full-time CDL A Driver/Laborer to join our team! This is a key role on our team as you will assist and work with our construction crew to successfully complete projects to meet our customers' expectations.
CDL A Driver/Laborer Responsibilities Include:
Transport heavy equipment, finished goods, and raw materials over land to and from or work sites. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents, or violations. Assists crew on digging ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes. Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic devices. Organize and retrieves tools for construction crew. Assists with flagging traffic. PM21
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a truck driver. Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc). Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. No recent moving or driving violations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc). Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations. Valid CDL license.
