Landscape Technician & Driver —

Job Description Employment Type:

Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available Perform proper maintenance of all clients' properties. Work as a team member under the direct supervision of the Landscape Foreman/Quality Control Manager. Responsible for completing landscape installation jobs, generalized maintenance services in an efficient manner, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibiting pride and quality workmanship. The employee will also be responsible for safely operating company vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, materials, plants, and other necessary items to and from job sites. A valid Florida Driver's License and a clean driving record are required. The specific duties in this role will include, but are not limited to: Meet with Quality Control Manager every morning prior to dispatch from yard to review and discuss scheduled installations and/or work to be performed; Safely operate company vehicles and trucks to transport employees, equipment, tools, plants, materials, and supplies to and from job sites; Safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials as needed; Operate vehicles while towing trailers and transporting landscaping equipment when required; Maintain a clean and safe company vehicle and report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns to management; Follow all applicable traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety procedures while operating company vehicles; Meet and follow up with Quality Control Manager every afternoon prior to dismissal to discuss completion of any and all additional work, and any changes felt necessary; Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, etc.; Operate string trimmer and edger to remove overgrowth and keep outdoor area tidy; Operate push or riding lawnmowers; may operate heavier tractor equipment if needed; Spread fertilizer, plant food, mulch, and other materials around plants; Remove weeds and dead plants; prune overgrown limbs and leaves; Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes; Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping; Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed; Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties; Trim shrubs and pull weeds; Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls; Report any irrigation and/or pest control issues to respective parties, including Quality Control Manager and Executive Assistant or Director to address and follow up with; Must follow up with pest and/or irrigation technicians on best course of actions;

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 1-2 years of previous lawn care employment and/or management; Valid Florida Driver's License; Clean and acceptable driving record with no major violations, excessive points, or license suspensions; driving record may be subject to verification; Ability and willingness to safely operate company vehicles, including trucks and vehicles towing trailers, as required; General knowledge of plant species and maintenance requirements; i.e. how to properly trim a Bougainvillea tree or how to spot white fly affecting a Ficus hedge; Knowledge of both English and Spanish languages is preferred but not required; Experience towing trailers and heavy equipment preferred but not required; Must be in good physical condition to squat, kneel, bend, etc.; Must be able to withstand all weather conditions; Professional and courteous communication skills; Multi-tasking and proper time management skills; Detail-oriented note-taking and organizational skills.
